Play! by Sephora July 2017 Review

Hello there, Guys and Gals! Everyone knows that makeup is a girl’s best friend and Boy! do I love makeup!!! I hate when I try makeup on in the store, it looks great. So I purchase it and leave the store excited, ready to wear it. When I apply the makeup on at home, it looks nothing like it did in the store. Such a bomber!! So it gets put away with all the other useless products I have under my sink. Does this happen to anyone else or just me? This is why I decided to try my VERY FIRST monthly makeup subscription box. So let’s get this review started.

Play! by Sephora offers 5 deluxe beauty and makeup samples that come in a collectible bag. Some items are exclusive to Sephora, plus coupons for in-store experiences, playlists, and a fragrance bonus item. The monthly subscription only cost $10 (plus local tax).

July’s theme is Beauty Staycation and the Play! Bag comes with 6 products in this pretty pink and white bag.

It also includes an insert with product descriptions/ directions and a Play! Pass that can be redeemed in Sephora stores for 50 extra Beauty Insider points with any purchase.

  1. Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara

A long-wearing mascara visibly thickens, curls and lifts lashes with a carbon-black formula( insert). I love how easy it was to apply without clumping or flaking. It really extended my lashes and lasted for a very long time. The brush is bigger than what I’m use to but it work great.

2. FRESH Rose Face Mask

A hydrating and toning gel mask refreshes tired, dull skin with calming infusion of pure rosewater and rose petals(insert). I love how the mask smells and how easy it was to apply to my skin. It left my skin feeling tight, soft and smooth.

3. Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray

A ultra light leave-in conditioning spray delivers non-greasy moisture without weighing down hair(insert). My hair is natural and curly, so this is perfect for me. It is smells like flowers and leaves my hair feeling fresh. I love the fact that I can apply it to wet or dry hair and I can use it daily.

4. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Set Sail

A long lasting yet moisture rich lipstick softens and smooths lips while providing full coverage color(insert). I absolutely love mauve colors, mostly because you can wear it all year around. I’m very picky when it comes to lipsticks because of my skin tone but this lipstick complimented me very well. I also like how this lipstick was easy it was to apply and did not bleed. It was moisturizing without feeling heavy.

5. Caudalie Vine[Activ] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum

A highly concentrated pollution protection serum reveals a youthful glow while helping visibly smooth fine lines(insert). I normally don’t use any serum in my daily routine or makeup routine, however I did try this product. The verdict of whether it works or not is still out there.

This creamy and sophisticated scent puts a new twist on a traditional, heavy oud fragrance with its light, fresh notes(insert). This perfume has a woodsy musk scent at first but turns into a clean scent. I think that it is a perfect summer fragrance. It is also uni-sex, at least me and my significant other thinks so because he liked it as well.

Overall, I was very pleased with my first makeup subscription box and can’t wait to get another one next month. If you haven’t tried a subscription box before, I strongly suggest that you do. There nothing better than receiving parcels in the mail or trying samples of products before you buy them.

      1. I’ve actually just signed up for one yesterday! But I live in Australia so I got one here called Bellabox. I’ve heard amazing things about the Birchbox & Ipsy maybe you can check those out! 🙂 x

  1. that lipstick looks KILLER on you! you lucked out with some awesome products!
I’m guilty of spending a ton on make up and leaving it in my drawers and cabinets as well — either because it looks nothing like how it did in the store or I’m just too lazy to put make up on lol
