My Truth: The biggest risk I’ve ever took

In life we are given two choices: play it safe or take a risk. 4 years ago, I felt like anything that could go wrong definitely went that way. I was a single parent working 3 jobs and still couldn’t make ends meet. I just knew there had to be a better way to live. In that moment, I decided to apply to jobs in 3 different states and the first job to called me for an interview(not even a job offer), that’s where I was moving to. Surprisingly, a company in Texas called and scheduled an interview.  I had never been to Texas before in my life and only knew an old high school classmate that stayed there. The following week, I went to Texas for the job interview and found an apartment.

This little faith the size of a mustard seed changed my life. However, there were some sacrifices that came with this risk. One of those sacrifices was my family. I had to be away from my son and my support system. A month after the interview, I still didn’t have a job but I got in a U-Haul and drove 16 hours to Dallas, TX.  Once I got unpacked and situated, reality started to set in. I couldn’t believe I actually moved all the way to Texas with no job and little money. But I had to remind myself of why I did it and how great the outcome could be. I did a lot of praying. Within 2 weeks, I had 3 job offers offering $4 more than I was making in Georgia. Taking a risk was the best decision of my life.
